FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
DOES IT HURT?
Anesthetic is applied before and throughout entire procedure to ensure you are comfortable. Every person's pain threshold is different and personal circumstances such as a recent cold/flus, stress levels and your menstrual cycle can sometimes impact your comfort during the procedure. Jaslyn will ensure that you are as comfortable as possible throughout the entire procedure.
WHO CANNOT GET COSMETIC TATTOOING?
HOW LONG WILL IT LAST?
The longevity of your tattoo can depend on a number of individual and lifestyle factors. These include sun exposure, your skin type, your skin care (Products that contain Retinol, Vitamin A, AHA & BHA, Glycolic and Salycilic Acid will prematurely fade the tattoo, You do not need to refrain from using them altogether, just insure that you avoid the brow area when using them). Facials including, chemical peels, microdermabrasion and other types can contribute to the tattoo fading sooner. The method of tattooing can also determine how long it will last. Combination and Ombre/Powder brows lasting longer than your Feather Touch/Microblading as this is a much more delicate method creating the individual brow hairs. Jaslyn recommends a brow refresh every 12 months to keep your brows look fresh and defined.
WHAT IS MICROBLADING?
This is the process of infusing pigment into the skin to simulate the appearance of natural hair. It is considered a tattoo, and semi permanent makeup. It is considered semi permanent makeup as it fades over time. Touch ups are suggested once a year in order to keep the color fresh and shape precise.
Microblading is meant to be a subtle natural enhancement, and to create fuller more beautiful brows. It looks most natural on clients who already have semi full brow hair, and are wanting to perfect their shape. The more hair you have, the more natural it will appear. Microblading heals best on young, healthy, and dry/normal skin.
Oily skin and aging/thin skin is not recommended for microblading. Results will not heal as well, or look as natural. If you are in this category, you would be a better candidate for the combination or ombre brow.

WHAT FACTORS WILL AFFECT MY COSMETIC TATTOOING?
- Oily Skin: Increased oil production can cause hair strokes to blur and heal lighter and powdery if microbladed, but other options are available for oily skin types.
- Smoking: Smokers may notice that their Semi-Permanent Cosmetics will fade faster.
- Sun exposure: Increased exposure to the sun will cause premature fading. You will want to use a special sunscreen for your Semi-Permanent Cosmetics; I recommend Cancer Council Sunscreen Stick 50+.
- Age and metabolism. The Faster your metabolism the faster the pigment will fade.
- Bleeding during the procedure: Excessive bleeding during your procedure will greatly affect how your body retains pigment. While this is not entirely in our control, it is important that you follow the pre-procedure care instructions to help minimize bleeding. This includes avoiding blood thinning medications, alcohol, and caffeine 24 hours before your procedure.
